Introduction:
My hobby is to paint. A hobby can be anything that a person likes to do in his spare or leisure time.
A hobby is a great engaging activity and it is how we develop our passion for the thing we like.
Thus, people with a hobby do not worry about any wastage of time. Hobbies can be anything and everything. A hobby can be meaningful as well as something leisurely. People usually have hobbies like gardening, reading, collecting coins, singing etc. A hobby is an extra-curricular activity and it helps in reducing boredom.
Painting:
Many people have painting as a hobby. So do I. I have always been keen of painting ever since my childhood. My mother used to say that even when I was a toddler, I used to take the pen from my father’s desk and then scribble randomly on the floor and the walls of the house. As I started growing older, I took up painting classes and started developing a great deal of interest in it. I always devoted a couple of hours in the evening to painting. My parents had bought me a paint box and a palette, seeing how much I enjoyed painting.
Painting Competitions:
ADVERTISEMENTS:
I pursued my hobby of painting not only in my house but also at my school. We used to have painting competitions every year in which may students from our school participated. My first participation ended up in a disaster when water was accidentally spilled on the painting I drew. I was dejected but I never lost hope. I took part in the competition again next year and I beat a senior student to grab the first prize. Our principal was so taken by my painting of an elderly woman that he asked me to draw something for him. I was really touched by his gesture. My parents were brimming with joy when they heard of the same.
My Painting Exhibition:
My painting teacher was so amazed by the paintings I made that he asked permission of my parents to put my paintings on display in an exhibition. It was one of the biggest moments in my life. My teacher told me that I was getting better with each stroke of the brush and my biggest strength was the way I observed things. His words motivated me to work harder and make beautiful paintings. The exhibition was a great success and my hobby of painting had become a passion.
Conclusion:
ADVERTISEMENTS:
When I first began painting and started developing interest in it, I had never thought that it would turn out to become such a huge passion of mine. I now know the importance of having a hobby. A hobby may at times be a hidden passion of a person. It might be something that we are meant to do but just haven’t discovered yet. You just need to pursue your hobby so as to discover if it really is your passion or not. We should always need to try newer things in life.
