In different part of the world, on different dates Children`s day is celebrated. The day is celebrated to honor children globally.
The day is basically observed to promote objectives defined for the wellbeing of children.

In India, Children`s day is celebrated on 14th November in remembrance with the birthday of our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was very fond of children and loved them very much. He always preferred to be amongst them and be one like them and in turn children also liked being with him. He was commonly called as Chacha Nehru by the students.

November 14th is celebrated across India in a benefitting manner. People gather at the Shanti Bhavan to offer homage. Wreaths are placed at the Samadhi and prayers are offered. Schools organize different cultural programs where children display their talent. There would be prizes for the participants and then the programs would be concluded with the National Anthem.
