While being a kid we have all been taught that we should not be lying and lying is not good. Lying is wrong for many reasons.
Each one of us does have a sense of right and wrong inside us and when we tell a lie it does reflect on us.
Telling lies do not always help one in every situation and definitely a lie would be caught at some point of time. While telling a lie, you might get escaped for the time being, but would definitely be caught at some point of time.

Telling truth at times does require great courage, but a person who speaks the truth is always respected and loved by others. He would be trusted at any point of time and would be accepted too. Though truth does take some effort and also may create a tense moment, it is far better than telling a lie. When you tell a lie and when you are being caught on it, the trust on you would be lost, even by your close friends and relatives and the trust once lost can never be regained back.
Lies could also cause hurt. Though you may think it would not cause any hurt, the fact is that it does cause hurt to the person whom you lie, because you have betrayed that person.

Though you may start telling lie at very small scales initially, it would gradually develop into a habit and you would not be able to get out of it resulting you to be a bad person. The more you lie, the more you lose respect and individuality and finally you would reach a point where nobody would trust you even when you try telling the truth, which is a horrifying situation.
No matter what, telling the truth is always better. Though it may be cause a commotion at first and may result in anger, the sense of betrayal would not last and once the situation cools down, everything would be cleared. Stand for the truth always and you would be a truthful person not only to yourself, but to the society too.
