Our solar system accommodates the sun, the giver of life, eight major planets namely, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the five dwarf planets namely, Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake and Eris.
Not only these, but there are thousands of minor planets and satellites that form a part of our Solar System.
As everyone knows that there is large envelope of live that has evolved on the earth, many scientists have predictions regarding the traces of lives on Mars and Europa, who is considered as a moon of Jupiter. It is believed that our Solar System was formed 4.6 billion years ago, which was a result of gravitational collapse of a giant cloud of dust. The sun, being the brightest star of our Solar System, acts as a source of light for the other planets. The earth gets its required heat for the evolution of life from the sun. There is a constant process of nuclear fusion on the surface of the sun which leads to a constant rise in its temperature.
